The Big 30!!
1,2,3...3O!
“Hello, I am Teisha and I'am 30 years old."
That feels so incredibly strange to type out because inside I still feel and like I’m still 20 something!
It is also very socially stressful I mean let's be honest, society makes turning 30 real tough for women and even more when you are an unmarried/ kidsless professional independent woman like me!
AM I FREAKING OUT?
I’ve had a lot of time to think about turning 30, as I saw most of my friends celebrate this very special milestone. I was aware of the mini mid-life meltdowns, depression, delusion that can come with this number. But I also saw many of my friends embracing and celebrate that important new stage of a woman life. Luckily I had one year preparation for this. Has we know 29 is only for us to get ready for the big 3.0!
Fo me, my last year was like an emotional rollercoaster. The fact is, when it comes to how I feel about turning I just can't controlled the mood swings! Some days, I was so ready other days I was feeling just so stress over my whole life accomplishment to this date.
Today is THE day. No more preparation. Either I jump in this new chapter with confidence and gratefulness or I let negative thoughts destroy everything I had build during the past years.
Guess what?! ... I decided that I will go 100% with confidence!
Here's why being 30 is awesome.
10 REASONS TO EMBRACE
YOUR 30 SELF
1. Confidence is the best feeling.
The older I get, the more I learn to NOT let these things get to me. Who I am as a person shouldn’t be determined by anything else but ME. I honestly don’t care if someone doesn’t like me, and ironically, the second I started thinking like that, the less people don’t like me.
2. You feel confortable to say NO.
If its not good for my health, wealth, happiness I will gladly say NO and never feel bad about it. The last couple of years taught me that saying no to things isn’t a big deal and gives me a sense of empowerment that I can stand up for myself without feeling guilty.
3. I educate myself every day.
This applies to so many areas of life–the food I buy, insurance, taxes, finances, business decisions, branding, health, etc. As you live life you acquire a wealth of knowledge (if you pay attention) that will help you live your best life. The more information I know, the better decisions I make.
4. I let go when necessary.
I truly believe that true friendships will last through but I also know that some people doesn't hod a life ticket in my life, and it's okay. I see those relationships as they have served their purpose in my life and moved on.
5. My profession is my livelihood.
I get such fulfillment from growing as a nurse. I also think that COVID-19 pandemic has a big part in my professional growth. Being in the front line in suc difficult time really has changed the way I see the world and people around me, Life is short and precious and I want to make the best of it and be even more there for those in need.
6. My closet is more chic and distinguish.
More confident I am with myself more adventurous I can be with my style. I playing with shoes, handbags, and accessories to make the outfit stand out.
7. Communication will fix anything.
I’ve learned that good communication skills is the best asset. I always feel better once I get an issue off my chest.
8. Trust my intuition.
Now, I trust my gut more than my logical thoughts. It just seems like your intuition ultimately rules out overthinking and ends up being right.
9. Stay positive.
I’ve learned to remove the negativity from my attitude. Once you strip away the negativity, you become such a happier person. Less judgement, less conflict, and more positivity.
10. This is just the beginning.
I’m excited to see what my 30’s bring and I am even more excited to share my journey with you!
